The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

Henries IV, VII and VIII were utter bastards. Henry VI was a weak king.

Everybody loves Henry V though.

Henry IV was a bastard, but a strong bastard. Henry VI was worse than useless.

Henry VII was stingy and mean, but he managed to restore England after decades of civil war

Does anyone know of any modern-era military game which has a more strategic approach to things, compared to ArmA 2 and the like?

Why thank you, because there was nothing about the royal baby on Twitter, Facebook, TV, radio or newspapers.

At least him being male gives another few decades for the Commonwealth realms to synchronise the changes to the laws of succession.

Operation Flashpoint- Dragon Rising seemed pretty realistic to me i.e not like CoD at all. But I don't know how similar to Arma 2 it is.

Thanks for the suggestion. OF: Dragon Rising is basically an attempt by Codemasters to rip off the Operation Flashpoint franchise after a dispute between them and Bohemia Interactive.

CoD is just horrible. It's by no means a military simulator. However, ArmA 2 is magnificent. The graphics are amazing, and there's a large arsenal of modern weaponry at your disposal, and the A.I is very smart (comparable to the intelligence of a human adversary, they utilize different tactics to either kill you, or force you out into the open if you're hiding), not to mention that the atmosphere this game has, and the feeling that you're part of a squad, is brilliant. However, that's a first person simulator, I'm looking for something between Command and Conquer and HoI 3, something that involves a bit of strategy and tactics as well.

I'm rooting for Henry personally, funnily enough.

From a somewhat pro-republican (australian) view point, i suppose one reason is that they provide a link to the past, to a millennium of tradition- they appear as a beacon of Stability and inspiration in many bad times: George VI in WW2 just to name one example.

I dont mind the Name, but couldnt we have had something more original? When was the last time we had a King or Queen 1?

I guess. I dunno. Maybe.

Wiki pegs the Civil List at £7m, which means unless I'm misunderstanding having a royal family costs us £7m a year? That doesn't seem a lot in the grand scheme of things, but on the other hand it's £7m which is a lot of money. If we're going for things as flaky as "tradition and inspiration" I'm on the fence as to whether or not £7m represents value for the country as a whole.
