Forumer Gallery Thread

Quick tutorial for those who don't know how to post a picture:
First you need a picture, ideally taken from a digital camera, but scanned images will still work.
Save them as jpegs (.jpg) or gifs (.gif).
Do not save them as bitmaps (.bmp), as this format uses about ten times the memory and makes the pages load slowly. Then you need to host the picture. Personally I use www.photobucket.com.
Then, you just need to post a link to the image.

Taking the example of an image on RTWH:

shows up as:

http://rtw.heavengames.com/forums/rtwh.gif
shows up as:
http://rtw.heavengames.com/forums/rtwh.gif

Picture.
shows up as:
Picture.

I have removed the pictures that Ace linked to that no longer exist. If you want your picture in the gallery (or to change the one that's already there, post it or link to it in the thread. If you want your picture removed, I can do that too.

NB - It is against Heavengames policy to allow anyone under the age of 14 to post personal pictures.

Looks like you're trapped in an outdoor fashion advert...I like the shirt, though.
Probably the only time I will have ever modeled for a friend's t-shirt company haha. It was a pretty uncomfortable experience...especially when he had me start undressing.

EDIT:
At the moment it appears Photobucket has taken a massive crap and can't display my image

Maybe this will work..

Ok, I'd like this picture placed as a link on the main first page, although I'll leave the details of that to Yak and Gaius, or DFV and EoJ, or whoever is in charge of, uh, picture maintenance.

I look suave.

Oh, and as replies to earlier posts:

Lord Ahm: I don't know why my fists were clenched at that time. I suppose it was just because that's me. I'm an odd person. That's another reason why I listen to doom metal, black metal, death metal, and thrash metal, because I am interested in dark stuff, the occult, and generally being secretive, I suppose.

EDIT: On second thoughts, I don't want that image posted as a link. Especially as that should be impossible as it is already translated on my post into a picture. I'll post another link, which is also to a much larger version of a picture:

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd112/TerokOrder/Meinsuittakenlower.jpg

I want that one on the main page, please.

I hope it works........I chose the "direct link" option when copying the text.

IJ: I would like permission to edit one of those pictures, so I can add a Santa hat in time for the festive season
A Santa hat on my head? I listen to black metal, you know. It's often about...........well, the occult, and anti-religion. However, I still enjoy Christmas anyway.

Uh, I suppose you could do that...........but, how would you get to it in order to edit it? After all, it's on my photobucket album. How do others copy from that? Can you please explain this to me?

Seriously, I don't know how to do that, because I've only just started using photobucket a couple of months ago, and I haven't learnt much about it since then.
Oh, you make me giggle, Imp.
Why exactly? I've seen a photo of you in one of your suits, it's on this very page! I don't see the humour in it...........maybe my expression, looking so stern and serious?
Actually, I am buying a suit for the yule-ball the next Thursday.
That's excellent! Suits are awesome! What kind of suit did you have in mind, is it a normal business suit, or an eveningwear suit? Surely if it's a ball, the dress code will be black tie, right?
Seeing as you are an expert IJ, can you give me any advice?
Seriously, you want advice from me about what suit to wear for your yule ball? Well, I'd be honoured. The best company in England, in my opinion, is Marks and Spencer, and another great one is John Lewis. However, you live in Norway, correct? Consequently, I don't think that M&S or John Lewis would have department stores there. Marks and Spencer might do, but John Lewis almost definitely won't, at least as far as I know.

If you just want my advice on suit design, patterns, ties, shirts, and the like, just basic sartorial stuff, you know, rather than my advice on what store to go to, I can help you there.

For a formal(Not Black Tie)event, pinstripes might be acceptable on a normal suit, but generally speaking, if it is a formal event but not formal enough for black tie, the person usually wears a plain, meaning Not patterned suit, preferably in black or navy, or possibly grey. I only have one plain suit, my black three-piece suit from John Lewis, but I might get a plain navy suit(probably two piece)in January, or maybe later. If I was wearing a plain navy suit to a semi-formal event, I'd wear it with a white shirt with cufflinks and either a medium blue tie or a medium purple tie. With shades of red in ties, Burgundy is ok, but brighter red is not quite right for me, although I do own some bright red ties, I don't wear them that often because red is a colour sometimes associated with socialism, and I am of the political right, further right than conservative, so I usually wear blue or purple ties.

If you're talking about eveningwear, meaning a dinner jacket suit with the whole black tie proper things - a full evening suit, a dinner shirt, braces, a bow tie, and a cummerbund, well, I can't give you much advice as I don't own an eveningwear suit yet. I will get one at some stage, but not yet.

I know there might not be a Marks and Spencer's near where you live, but just in case, and also to show you the styles I would choose, here are a couple of links:

Three Piece Navy Pinstripe Suit

Scroll down to the bottom of that page and you can see find the link for the waistcoat for that suit, which is on a separate page.

Plain Navy Suit(two piece)

This is one of my favourites. When I get more money I may buy this one. But not yet, I've learnt my lesson about overspending on suits, I almost definitely won't do something like that again, unless I become super mega rich or something.

Plain Gray Suit

But if these aren't your style and you want something more Italian style, these styles are a good idea:

Fairly Plain Navy Suit

Sort of brownish Suit

Black Pinstripe Suit

If you want an eveningwear suit(dinner jacket suit), here are some good ideas:

Cheapish Evening Suit

Another evening suit

There are several more on the page if you want more ideas.

Anyway, I apologise if this has been rather long and convoluted, especially as this is a picture thread, and I admit some of it could be shorter. I hope I have given you plenty of good advice, Ahm.

To the moderators, feel free to edit my post if you wish, if it is too large. We should probably discuss this in another thread anyway.
I like Italian suits, something smart.
Well, Collezione is Marks and Spencer's Italian Styled range. That should give you a lot of good ideas for choices of styles, even if there isn't a Marks and Spencer near where you live.

Hope that this is helpful.

Well, everyone else has theirs on the main page, so I still don't see why that's funny.
Sorry again for going off topic.

I'm pleased you found it helpful.

So, if you don't mind me asking, is there a Marks & Spencer's department store where you live in Norway? I'm just curious, because I've never been there so I wouldn't know if you have english shops there.
Merry Christmas IJ.
Uh, not bad....... It's a little silly for someone as grim and serious as me to be wearing a santa hat, but oh well.

To be honest, I really didn't know it was that easy to do.
It's a terribly advanced process IJ. You've got to right click and 'save as'. Loads of complex knowledge required.
Right click and save as, complex, right? Nah, don't think so.

Oh, and I didn't find that funny. I spent ages writing that post about suits all for you, and I did it all to be helpful to you. So I would really appreciate it if you didn't make fun of me, because my so called "friends" in the past in Real Life(not on forums)used to do that to me, even when I did nice things for them, and it made me really misanthropic and distrustful of pretty much everybody I knew. Which I still am. But I am trying to be trusting and nice to you and to everyone else here, so please show me the same respect.

Ok?
