DO Pirate Galeons Have some kind of "Lucky " Death shot Its just that I fight Galeons by keeping in front of them & hitting them with chain shot ,bring down the masks then sail behind them & hit them with soild shot, its worked ok till I met this Brainstormer ,I brought down its sails turned 2 fire the gun,s the otherside. The Galeon fired with its forward guns 4 canon balls hit my Sloop as my guns were firing, they hit the side of the ship this was at Max range & BOOM end of my ship it was unhit & undamage befor this,On my turn I attacked This Galeon with a 6th rate & a Sloop Again the first shot blow my Sloop up? Is it The Galeons name, ie in the game is this Galeon harder? I have been able to take other Galeons but they were all called flounder. by the way Im pretty new to the game but was wondering has anybody else noticed that if you turn the ship sharp into the wind you get a man overboard,

Galleons do possess very heavy guns at the fore of the ship, which makes any effort by smaller, outgunned vessels to fire away at the sails with chain shot from a position ahead of galleons a risky endeavor. I too have sustained heavy damage and sometimes the entire loss of vessels such as sloops and brigs due to shots sustained from these heavy guns. I can't definitively state the gauge or poundage of the cannon, but they certainly seem to have a much more damaging effect than those which run the length of the ship.
