Is there any way to get a minor nation to revoke/not be a protectorate of a major nation? A prime example is Saxony. If, playing as Prussia, you could somehow alter Saxony's status as a protectorate, either by becoming their protectorate or getting Poland to renounce their protection, it would make expansion much easier. Any thoughts?

I dont believe there is a way. You could possibly ally with Poland and Saxony, then declare war on Poland. It might avoid a declaration of war from Saxony but it might not. A quick peace, however expensive may be the best option.
